    Duration: September 2018 - December 2018

As a student in BDO’s Software and Information Systems Testing group, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Use the technical knowledge you have acquired through your courses, you will carry out work projects and assignments under the direct supervision of a manager or another experienced team member.
    • Build effective working relationships with client contacts, providing responses to client requests and suggestions related to the client engagement.
    • Understand and adhere to BDO IT’s quality assurance measures and testing standards for building new applications, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders in various types of testing methods, such as system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
    • Create and execute test plans and test cases/scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications
    • Document and track defects and fixes throughout the SDLC
    • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders, business and end-user community, and management
    • Assist with testing activities to support the delivery of business requirements and systems goals, and identify existing or potential issues

    Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

    • Working towards undergraduate diploma/degree with a focus in Software and Information Systems Testing or Information Technology
    • Experience in a QA/testing role in a professional environment considered an asset
    • High level understanding of the design, development, and implementation of QA/application testing standards, best practices, and System Development Lifecycle methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively to participate in project strategy, planning and approach as it relates to testing and the QA process
    • Strong analytical, time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment
    • Experience with MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint)
    • Experience with Project Portfolio Management tools (MS Project Online) or similar tools
    • Experience in test management framework and tools considered an asset
