    Interested in working in for our Mergers & Acquisitions/Transaction Advisory Business Line?

    BDO’s advisory professionals work with clients to address a variety of business issues and opportunities, ranging from profitability pressures, changing regulations and volatile economies to mergers and acquisitions and technology solutions. As a student in our Mergers & Acquisitions and Transaction Advisory practice, you will work closely with our team at our downtown Toronto location. Our Mergers & Acquisitions team provide clients with expertise on buying, selling, merging or acquiring a new business. We perform various types of services such as financial, tax, IT and reputational due diligence, as well as provide guidance on mergers and acquisitions, raising capital and valuations. As a student in the Mergers & Acquisitions/Transaction Advisory team, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Prepare pitch-books and presentation documents in connection with business development initiatives
    • Perform industry and company research supporting live engagements
    • Prepare lists of potential buyers and acquisition targets
    • Assist with drafting of marketing documentation (ie. Confidential Information Memorandums)
    • Assist with various financial analysis as required - including financial modelling and comparable company analyses
    • Participate in due diligence processes
    • Analyze offers from potential buyers

     

    Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge

    • Enrolled in an accounting focused post-secondary program with intention of pursuing the CPA designation
    • Strong interest in Mergers and Acquisitions
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform analytical work accurately, often under time pressure
    • Developed communication skills and strong ability to collaborate with team members
    • Ability to prioritize competing priorities with varying deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in a fast-paced deals environment
