    Your opportunity

    Our Montreal office is looking for a Junior Accountant to join the Assurance & Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

    • Learn the technical requirements of the practice all while helping us meet our best in class client service standards.
    • Use technical accounting and tax knowledge acquired through your degree/diploma and apply it to client engagements.
    • Complete projects and assignments under the direct supervision of experienced team members who are there to help every step of the way.
    • Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, complete notice to reader engagements, and or tax returns according to Firm and regulatory standards.
    • Gather audit evidence for client engagements, collect all pertinent information for the notes to the financial statements that are relevant to your sections of the file, and gather management/client service letter points.
    • Build effective working relationships with client contacts, preparing questions, and providing responses and suggestions related to client engagement.

    • You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
    • You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.
    • You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.
    • You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

    Your experience and education

    • Successful completion of undergraduate degree/diploma and CPA pre-requisites (PEP)
    • A desire to provide outstanding client service
    • A commitment to teamwork and proven leadership skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • 0-1 year experience in an accounting/audit role
