    Your opportunity

    Our Toronto office is looking for a Co-op or Intern Student to join the IT QA team from September to December 2019, and own the following responsibilities:

    • Use the technical knowledge you have acquired through your courses, you will carry out work projects and assignments under the direct supervision of a manager or another experienced team member.
    • Understand and adhere to BDO IT’s quality assurance measures and testing standards for building new applications, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Collaborate with IT and Business stakeholders in various types of testing methods, such as system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
    • Create and execute test plans and test cases/scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications. Document and track defects and fixes throughout the SDLC.
    • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders, business and end-user community, and management.

    Your experience and education

    • You are currently working towards an undergraduate diploma/degree with a focus in Software and Information Systems Testing or Information Technology.
    • You have a high-level understanding of QA/application testing standards, best practices, and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative)
    • You display strong problem solving, analytical, time management and communication skills.
    • You demonstrate ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
    • You have experience with MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint) and in test management framework and tools considered an asset.
